Managed major aspects of a migration to the SICSnt reinsurance accounting system for the North American retrocession operation, which controls $1 billion in receivables. (Retrocession is a process where a reinsurance company cedes risk to other companies and includes premium payment, claim collection, accounting, reporting, systems and other functions.)Prior to my migration role, I managed a U.S. and India-based retrocession team of 24 people. The department’s function was to determine the amounts of claims that Swiss Re could recover from other insurance companies through retrocession agreements, and then bill and collect those amounts. I was responsible for staff recruiting, training and evaluation; management of relationships with other departments and outside vendors; and all related operations using a variety of accounting, billing and payment systems.

Managed the finance and accounting operations of two of GE Insurance Solution’s three accounting systems used for policy issuance, accounting, receivables and claims for $500 million in annual premium. (GE Insurance Solutions was acquired by Swiss Re.)

Owned and operated Financial Consulting Solutions, selling and managing consulting projects to help financial institutions and corporations increase income and improve operations.* Led acquisitions and creations of new businesses including due diligence, development of business plans, and management of support personnel.* Implemented branch and ATM cash management systems for banks with up to 1,000 branches and 2,000 ATMs, including creation of departments, training, and coordination of information systems, branch and operations personnel to produce multimillion dollar savings.* Enhanced procedures, in areas including investments, asset/liability management, lending, information systems, and capital planning, to improve the controls and effectiveness of operations.* Completed strategic analyses of numerous issues including capitalization, ownership structure, competition, product pricing, and potential products to support executive and board planning sessions.

Led major projects including the establishment of a $1 billion medium term note program and development of systems to value a $4.5 billion portfolio of interest rate swaps.

Managed expansion from 4 to 25 consultants while leading comprehensive performance improvement projects to substantially increase the income of many of the largest banks and companies in the U.S.
