Tom advises his clients on corporate structuring, employment law issues, business contracts, intellectual property protection and restrictive covenants. He also represents businesses in disputes arising from breach of contract, breach of non-compete and non-solicitation covenants, employment lawsuits, theft of trade secrets, and ownership/partnership disputes.Tom spent the early years of his career at a prominent business litigation, corporate transactional, and employment law firm located in Buckhead. After several years, Tom went in-house to serve as General Counsel for a technology firm based in Norcross. Tom later started his own firm, and in April 2011, moved his practice over to Wagner, Johnston & Rosenthal, P.C.Before law school, Tom worked as an accountant for a real estate development and construction company located in Sandy Springs. His accounting responsibilities included general ledger auditing and management, accounts payable, invoicing, job costs, and budgeting. Mr. Shepherd received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from California Western School of Law, located in San Diego, California. While there, Tom was on the Dean’s List, served as an elected ABA representative, and competed in oral argument competitions. Tom received BBA from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Tom majored in Business Management with a concentration on entrepreneurship and small business development. Tom won several awards while there, including an entrepreneurship new venture competition and the Strategic Management Capstone Competition for his class.Tom grew up in Atlanta, and presently lives with his wife, son and two daughters in the Garden Hills neighborhood located in Buckhead, Georgia.
