My role is to lead the editorial strategy for BusinessBecause, GMAC's candidate-facing website. I manage a team of writers and content producers to create editorial and sponsored articles, video and webinars on all aspects of global graduate management education and postgraduate business career paths.

I led the content strategy for - and managed a team of conference producers and programmers to deliver - highly prestigious, in-person and virtual global conferences for higher education leaders, academics and thought-leaders from government and industry. We pivoted our events to virtual and hybrid during the pandemic and worked across a number of different digital platforms. During this time we created multi-stage conferences that reached tens of thousands of delegates and married both editorial and sponsor-driven sessions to create a financially successful and audience-focussed range of events.

For more than nine years, I was a freelance commissioning editor, writer, event producer, and a specialist in commercial and branded content. During this time I undertook some in-house contracts but also remote ad hoc editing and writing commissions. Regular clients in addition to those listed below included John Brown Media, Seven, Speak Media, Immediate Media, PMS. I also wrote for The Guardian and Sainsbury's Magazine.

Within my freelance portfolio, I commissioned, wrote and edited social content for Benenden Health for four years. From 2017-2019 I edited the award-winning magazine, Be Healthy. Additionally, I was a regular news and feature writer for various Think titles and was news editor of Connect (for Crohn's & Colitis UK).

Again within my freelance period, I spent more than a year working full-time as a multimedia commissioning editor at Spark, the Telegraph's commercial division overseeing print, digital, video and social campaigns for a number of large brands such as Heinz, Direct Line, AMEX and Royal Canin. Plus two further years regularly writing sponsored content on a freelance basis.

Initially freelancing as a writer and editor in the special projects department, I also supported with freelance summit content planning, including writing programmes, recruiting and briefing speakers for various higher education focussed conferences such as the inaugural Africa Universities Summit and Latin America Universities Summit. Following in-house stints in 2015 and 2016, I continued to write for various special projects on a freelance basis.

I first worked at Sunday as editor of a one-off education publication for a local authority, and then as the editor and copywriter of Serco's CSR report. This led to regular freelance stints as editor/commissioning editor or writer on various contract magazines, blogs and newsletters for clients such as Petplan, Royal Marsden and Toyota, among others.

I oversaw the editorial direction of Primary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, Early Years, Governors, Teachers'​ TV and Spectrum (a family of magazines and ezines published on behalf of the Department for Education) plus numerous special projects and one-off supplements. Our brief was to share DfE policy and best practice with stakeholders that included school leaders, governors, staff at Sure Start children's centres. My team of eight (bolstered by numerous freelancers) produced highly relevant editorial content that engaged the magazines' varied audiences.As group editor, my responsibilities included commissioning, editorial planning, client and stakeholder liaison, budget management, recruitment and team management, and pitching new business opportunities.

I edited a number of branded content magazines and products for clients such as Virgin, the AA, Centrica and Transport for London. This involved end-to-end magazine production including content idea generation, client liaison, commissioning, and budget management.

I was assistant editor of Virgin Atlantic's monthly listing magazines and my role included meticulous listings input, proofing and editing; picture research, and writing film and pop culture features.
