CurrentI am a UK intellectual property solicitor and a UK and European trade mark attorney. I am head of the IP Group at Edwin Coe. I advise on all aspects of intellectual property across a range of sectors including entertainment and media, sport, technology including software design and development, electronics, food and drink and fashion. I have a particular expertise in acting for rights holders in the media and for sports entities. Trade marks are a favourite area and I have worked with a number of major global companies in creating, exploiting and protecting their brands. I also have considerable experience in sports law, having advised governing bodies, clubs and individuals on rights protection, sponsorship and database rights. I sit on the Council of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA), and I am a member of the ITMA Law and Practice Committee and the Copyright and Designs Working Group.
