Management of metallurgical laboratories including optical and electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction equipment. Analysis and characterisation. Metallurgical support to consultancy projects.

I was metallurgical advice service principally for group engineering but available to other areas of the business. I conduct failure investigations, provide advice on material section, conduct inspections of castings and fabrications.

Here I developed coating and braze repair processes for hot section gas turbine components. This involved authoring all the appropriate changes to the process documents, operation sheets and travellers (routers) and processing packs for OEM approval. This was for aero engines and carried out under an AS9100 quality system

Here I worked on a number of EU funded high temperature metals projects and provided support to the consultancy actives of AMRI to local SMEs.Principally I designed, build and operated test rigs for high temperature aluminide coatings, conducted analysis, produced reports papers and presentations and played a key role in running the laboratories
