Most recently Simon has been involved in consultancy work for a leading British pharmaceutical company and is currently involved in setting up a National naloxone network for England & Wales. Simons current position is lead on safeguarding for a leading national substance misuse service and sits on the board of Blackpool safeguarding adults & children; Simon leads on MASH and MARAC and multi layered audits for each service. Simon's also has extensive experience that derives from training, educating and facilitating within all types of learning environments as part of public health England and NHS Blackpool, Simon currently teaches / lectures on addictions, primarily substance misuse & alcohol abuse but he also lectures in psychological therapies (motivational interviewing specifically) and on health psychology more widely Simon also lectures on overdose prevention and awareness and is involved with the development of a national program to develop skills and awareness he has also historically lectured and developed treatment for male sexual abuse and self-harm. Simon has over 15 years’ experience of working with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties to include depression, OCD, PTSD & general anxiety, health anxiety, psychosis, identity and relationships.Simon is innovative, confident and trend astute; and has extensive experience of working with adults in a variety of settings as well as in private practice, Higher Education, third sector Charity and NHS. Beyond this experience Simon has worked in management roles and project development work, he has also worked as a specialist drugs practitioner.Specialties: programme development and problem solving; report writing; communications; resource mobilisation and identification; high level advocacy, drug user organising, stimulants (dance drugs, crack and ketamine), route transition interventions, heroin and motivational interviewing.
