I am a software engineer with expertise in developing applications using full-stack and database technologies.Prior to transitioning to software engineering, I spent two years conducting cross-functional neuroscience research. If I were to pinpoint one moment that set me on the path to becoming a software engineer, it would be when I learned to operate a MATLAB script to automate recording procedures for a research study.As a member of the Gen-Z cohort (and proud of it), navigating a computer may have been second nature, but navigating a computer script was far from natural. After the experiment, I didn't walk away with new skills in MATLAB; instead, I became acutely aware of my own limitations in coding literacy. What resonated, however, was the transformative potential inherent within technology.Gradually, I dabbled in Python as a hobby, not wanting to let go of the familiar for the unknown. In 2023, with the new year having rolled in, I decided to bite the bullet and pursue post-graduate training to focus on my potential full-time.One year later, having completed a software engineering fellowship, I can confidently say that I've acquired skills much faster than I would have otherwise. I am now working on my own projects and seeking my next role in the industry, where I can apply my interdisciplinary background to solve novel challenges.
