About Stephanie Schaefer
I believe the most important piece of a student's education and the most valuable customer to education software is a teacher. The role of technology in the classrom should not be to replace the teacher, but to give the them limitless possiblities to open the minds of every individual they touch. From one screen a teacher should have the capability to help a student unlock the most mystifying questions of the universe, or take a student into the world of the human brain. Maybe I spent a little too much time with Ms. Fizzle as a kid, but she was really on to something with that bus of hers. Edtech is the perfect place to give every teacher a magic school bus. The tools that education software brings into the classroom shouldn't be limited to assigning testing scores to students or calculating their data. It should be an endless toolbox to support the most crucial part of any student's education, the teacher! I love working in edtech because I believe it is the best place to be the strongest supporter children everywhere. Even a student who struggles to read or struggles with a test score can find something exciting in a teacher who has a little extra something up their sleeve, with a new video, a game, or an interesting book that can take a student anywhere. A small bit of information can change the course of a student's life, and I want to be a part of the company that makes sure that information is ready when the teacher needs it.
