Construction Risk Specialist
Current* Assess projects under construction that are at the highest risk of failing to reach completion and determine the strategy for ongoing management of these projects to reduce the likelihood of failure.* Diligently manage a portfolio of at-risk construction projects and perform site visits as needed.* Coordinate regular calls with the project team (borrower, general contractor, subcontractors, third parties, etc.) to ensure construction is progressing in accordance with the project management strategy.* Elevates problematic situations to Construction and Credit Administration leadership as needed.* Supports Construction leader in the planning and execution of new strategic risk management initiatives, including the development of policies and procedures for managing at-risk construction projects* Assists with vetting third parties utilized during the construction management process.* Monitor and report on industry trends and economic changes to assist Credit Administration with portfolio risk management.* Serve as borrowers' point of contact throughout the loan's disbursement period.* Monitor and clear documentation exceptions related to specific loans; including follow-up for insurance policies, final as complete appraisal certification, title insurance exceptions, etc.* Apply expertise and independent judgment to recommend necessary modifications to the loan budget and structure with Lending and Credit’s final approval. Work with internal and external parties as required to facilitate documentation. * Create Watchlist records for managed projects and provide quarterly updates to Credit Administration.* Apply expertise, acquired through experience in the industry, by facilitating construction-specific trainings for Construction, Credit, Underwriting, and Lending* Acts as a construction consultant to members of the Construction team, particularly when assessing general contractors and in cases where a construction project is not progressing as planned.
