Custom design and manufacturing of elevators, roof cranes, and hoists; subcontractor to major manufacturers.Design solutions and manage production of custom elevators, material lifts, and hoists to accommodate unique specifications, shapes, and difficult designs. Member of engineering team of four; work closely with outside architects and engineers to ensure finished products meet customer and regulatory requirements. Determine machine lifts, components, and materials; analyze designs and materials to verify elevator capacity and safety specifications. Complete design drawings (AutoCAD 2010).Provide materials, parts orders and specs to Procurement. Work with shop fabricators and machinists to complete build, then disassemble and ship finished product to customer for installation.Project descriptions: Developing a three-level passenger elevator for the Boston Tea Party Museum located on a barge. Developed a solution for telescoping toe guards that accommodates shallow-pit elevators and created a template that is currently being used to manufacture elevators for several different projects. Worked with head engineer to complete frame design for a circular elevator installed on a 150-foot yacht. Designed an innovative cantilevered material lift to accommodate limited overhead space for the chain hoist, providing increased vertical car clearance. Designed industrial elevators that rise up to the sidewalk from a basement below. Designed roof cranes handling 1,000 to 20,000 lbs. including hand cranks, chain hoist, and fold-a-ways.
