Bass Leisure (London / Johannesburg) 1996 – CFO and acting MDWas seconded to Bass Leisure to establish a Leisure / Entertainment business in South Africa. This included lobbying the Government at the highest levels, negotiating joint ventures, setting up entertainment centres in the main cities, sourcing debt and equity finance, putting in place systems and recruiting local staff. Created new brand and implemented country wide marketing and promotion plans.Holiday Inn Worldwide Asia Pacific (1991 –1995) – CFO (Hong Kong) Responsibility for finance, strategy development, legal and IT across 20 countries in the Asia Pacific region. This included the operation of 80 hotels with annual revenues in excess of US$ 0.8 billion. I was the main legal representative for more than 30 companies and divisional board member.Holiday Inn Europe, Middle East & Africa (1988 –1991) – CFO (Brussels) After the acquisition of Holiday Inn’s international business by Bass Plc, I was promoted to join the divisional board taking charge of finance and IT across more than 30 countries. Turnover US$ 0.75 billion.Crest Hotels Europe (1986 – 1988) – Director of Finance (Frankfurt)Negotiated the purchase of four Holiday Inn hotel properties, value US$ 120 million and disposal of 14 Crest Hotels value US$ 150 million.Crest Hotels UK (1985 – 1986) – Chief Accountant (Banbury)Planned and implemented the integration of financial and accounting systems of Crest Hotels UK (80 hotels; turnover £350 million) and Pontins Holidays (30 holiday/leisure centres; turnover £200 million).
