Current research efforts include:* Principal Investigator on the DARPA RAM Replay program. Responsibilities include the management of a multidisciplinary team investigating the role of memory replay and interventions to increase its efficacy on complex skill acquisition. Developing and modelling neurostimulation-based interventions to impact declarative memory replay in humans that is validated with high-density EEG and physiological measurement.* Principal Investigator on the DARPA Intelligent Neural Interfaces program. Developing artificial intelligence approaches to increase robustness and longevity of sophisticated implantable neural interfaces in humans.* Algorithm lead on Teledyne's team for DARPA Next Generation Non-Surgical Neural Interfaces (N3) program. Developing transformative systems for noninvasive imaging and stimulation of the brain at high speed and resolution.

Developing and validating novel theories of conceptual representation in the human brain using MRI and MEG. Applying these theoretical constructs to develop a system for decoding concept processing in the brain from direct neural measurement.* Experimental lead on the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies program Automated Neurally Derived Intent. Investigation of signals representative of user intent from EEG and applying those signals to real-time decoding of attentional deployment and high level decision making.

Applied Sciences Division: Responsibilities include leading execution and assisting in the capture of applied neuroscience research.* Developed generative computational models of the human ventral visual processing stream under the DARPA Neovision2 program.* Contributed to the transition of first deployable (DARPA funded) neurotechnology under the DARPA NIA program.* Experimental lead on the CAN CTA technology transition program developing brain machine interfaces for evaluating driver fatigue involving collection and analysis of neural (EEG) and physiological (EOG, eye-tracking) data.

My responsibilities included performing neurophysiology experiments aimed at understanding the processes of synaptic plasticity and learning and memory in the brain, and communicating my work through publication and various scientific forums. Methods routinely employed in my studies include: two photon laser scanning microscopy, electrophysiology, and cellular and tissue specific pharmacology. My work was published in Nature Neuroscience, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

Assisted in medical cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology experiments. Professional responsibilities included: histological sectioning of ventricular tissue, handling and implementation of pharmacological agents, animal surgery, and acquisition and analysis of voltage sensitive imaging data.
