Java-based systems are my specialty. I bring broad and deep Java design and development experience to a development Team. I work remotely from New York.I have identified five essential criteria of environments for creating great software:1. End-to-end automation and feedback rooted in TDD and CI/CD2. Product Owner vision, direction and priorities3. Change-driven focus on outcomes4. Domain Modeling with Analysts and Programmers working together5. Platform PODI got my first programming job by scoring in the top 5% in a national competition. This was at a government service bureau. I read my way around the Computer Library. I’ve been doing and studying software development ever since.As an early Mac developer, I followed principles that are now known as Agile. Techniques I used at Motorola to increase factory throughput were later applied to software development as foundations of DevOps.On a project for Netscape I learnt Javascript and got my start with Java, joining Sun’s Java Center as a Java consultant. I’ve been developing in Java ever since.At HSBC two of the Java applications that I created I supported through their lifecycles over many years: through changing Business requirements and ways of working, system upgrades and migrations, and evolving software development attitudes, tools and practices. I contributed to Java-related projects with hundreds of people in sixteen countries.
