I served the citizens of California for 28 years as an officer with the California Highway Patrol. I’ve been shot at, run over, and worked the Los Angeles riots, the Malibu fires, and the 1994 Northridge earthquake. (I still have a chunk of the I-10 freeway on my desk as a reminder of its devastation.It was a very exciting and fulfilling career. I spent 19 of those 28 years on a motorcycle. During that time I was honored to be chosen to work with our Protective Services Detail. Working alongside the Secret Service we provided all motorcades for dignitaries from around the world. I have had the privilege of meeting presidents George Bush Sr., William (Bill) Clinton, and George Bush Jr., as well as many other world leaders.I was also fortunate enough to know Larry Wilcox who played John on the hit TV series “CHiPS”. I was asked to play Larry’s body double during the filming of the TV reunion show entitled “CHiPS 99”. It was a very exciting and fulfilling career with too many experiences to list.After retirement, I worked for a prestigious security firm providing executive and celebrity protection. We conducted investigations and surveillance, transportation and security for high-value jewelry, gems, art, and irreplaceable artifacts. My favorite job was working with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In July 2016 I suffered 3 strokes in one week leaving me partially disabled. My recovery has been nothing short of a miracle, I am currently employed as a Lead Instructor with Driving Dynamics which allows me the opportunity to share my vast experience in the field of traffic safety. I am blessed to be able to contribute back to society and help make it a safer place.I have many skills that would be of great value to anyone who wants to know the rest of my story. Recovering from more than one near-death experience has taught me never to take life for granted and never give up.
