With the success of my SDET role and my demonstrated leadership abilities, I was asked to take on Software Engineering Lead for the company's HIRE product module. I lead and manage a scrum team of engineers, help define the technical requirements for the product, ensure that we have a smooth and effective process, and contribute to delivering a great product experience. I still help lead our work in the area of SDET, given the passion I have for automated testing. In my role as an SDET/SEIT, I was able to do what I love every day! Achievements:-Formulated a comprehensive plan to infuse a continuum of test engineer best-practices into the entire development organization and I led the implementation.-Designed and built an Automated Test framework to execute all of our UI Regression tests, nearly all of which had been executed manually. The entire engineering department (over 30 engineers) contributed to this effort and continues to use and add to this solution.-Worked to implement best practices and tools for Integration / API testing. A majority of the code base now takes advantage of this work.-Created and delivered training on software quality, software test, and test automation for the engineering and product departments.

I joined CoStar so that I could be both a technical contributor as well as a leader. It was a great mix for me to be able to do highly technical hands-on work one day and then draw from my 20 years of leadership experience the next day. I loved this role because I got a chance to work on and solve all kinds of problems/challenges every day!Achievements:-Defined and implemented multiple automated test frameworks and solutions using Visual Studio, C#.Net, Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow, and other supporting technologies. Integrated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline.-Created custom automation framework for managing and executing data quality checks. Data checks are SQL queries that can be grouped into sets and scheduled for execution. Users are automatically notified of failures via e-mail and assigned a work ticket for data resolution. Framework consists of a web front-end, SQL Server tables, and a Windows service execution engine.-Tapped to help hire QA Engineers and SEIT’s in multiple offices for multiple teams.-Contributed in all aspects of software quality including: staffing, planning, testing (UI, Data, Performance, Stress, Regression), automation (POCs, architecture, execution, maintenance), reporting-Advanced the adoption of common practices using Microsoft Azure DevOps (TFS) across project teams.

As part of the Systems R&D Management Team, led a local SQA team and project-dependent offshore resources of an outsourced partner. Worked in an outsourced execution environment, with distributed teams, using an agile execution model.Achievements:-Led the Test Automation Initiative across the department to help project teams increase the use and benefit of automated unit, functional, regression, integration, system and performance testing.-Acted as a leading member of the team that defined and piloted the first agile (Scrum) development methodology project for the group.-Guided and contributed to the implementation of the team’s SQA practices using Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager (MTM).-Customized two Microsoft CodePlex open source MTM tools for use across the Systems organization. This required software development using C#.Net and Visual Studio.-Led a distributed team across three locations to define a common defect management policy for the new agile development process being used across the entire business unit.-Implemented an outsourced process for monthly verification of Microsoft security patches.-Participated on a committee, representing the R&D department, to address employee concerns; as such, worked on an initiative to further promote the company values.
