Leadership/Management of the Software Quality Assurance group comprised of 20+ software quality engineers.Earned Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) Oct 2010 from American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty UnderwritersPrincipal Responsibilities:-Prepared and communicated SQA mission, strategies and goals to senior management.-Ensured SQA methodologies, procedures, practices, and standards were designed, implemented, and consistently executed.-Ensured SQA activities were synchronized with the Agile/SCRUM and traditional development methodologies being used. -Provided services for all types of software testing, including: functional, performance, load, stress, regression, compatibility, integration, API, and use of test automation.-Defined automated regression goals and directed automation sub-group leader in execution.-Managed software quality and provided software quality readiness assessments based on quality objectives for the company’s client/server, web, web service, and API products.-Defined and led continuous improvement initiatives to increase product quality.-Responsible for resource planning, interviewing, & hiring new employees for SQA.-Managed training and continued professional growth of all team members.-Worked with SQA manager in off-shore office, to sync SQA activities on shared projects.-Assessed SQA purchasing needs and prepared annual budget for group.Achievements:-Brought cohesion to group and improved teamwork by defining career paths, settings expectations, documenting standards, and coaching leadership among the team.-Enhanced the reputation of the SQA group by defining the group’s mission and objectives, solidifying responsibilities, demonstrating continuous improvement, and communicating status to senior level management.-Established automation strategy centering on the use of Micro Focus SilkTest product. -Directed pilot of IBM ClearQuest to replace aging home-grown bug tracking tool.
