Served as Director of CRA's Department of Architectural and Cultural History, managing historic preservation projects nationwide. In this capacity, I was responsible for preparing scopes of work and budgets; hiring and managing project personnel; coordinating with private clients, local governments, and state and Federal agencies; business development; providing QA/QC on preservation projects; and handling administrative functions related to the successful and efficient daily operations of the department across multiple offices.As an architectural historian and preservation planner, I worked closely with clients to prepare technical reports, planning studies, and other specialized documentation, including but not limited to HABS-level recordation, historic structure reports, cultural landscape reports, condition assessments, historic context studies, preservation plans, design guidelines, National Register nominations, and historic resource management plans. I also worked closely with local stakeholders on heritage tourism initiatives and with state and federal agencies to develop documents such as Memorandums of Agreement and Programmatic Agreements.

National Non-Profit Organization

In 2007, I began involvement with the Recent Past Preservation Network, a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting preservation, education, and advocacy to encourage a contextual understanding of our modern built environment. In 2008, I joined the Board of Directors, charged with leading the direction of the nation's leading recent past advocacy organization. In 2011, I became President of the organization. In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the organization and managing the Board of Directors, I was responsible for responding to advocacy issues and documentation needs throughout the country. I also designed and managed the public outreach elements of the organization, including the website, social media, and a quarterly magazine, which was distributed across the country. I also worked to develop special programming and initiatives such as introducing a student scholarship, reintroducing a state representative program, and crafting the Continuum program, an initiative to engage and promote the work of students and young professionals.

Greater Philadelphia Area

As a Senior Historic Preservation Planner, I worked with a team of preservationists to oversee and contribute to the historic preservation activities of Delaware County and its 49 municipalities. I worked closely with communities, individual persons, historical commissions, and Certified Local Governments (CLGs) to promote and protect the irreplaceable historic places that are vital to the identity of our communities.I was responsible for the daily review of subdivision and land development projects, HUD and CDBG projects, and other projects to monitor their effects on historic properties, and, where appropriate, to ensure that projects met the Secretary of the Interior's Standards or that adverse effects were appropriately mitigated. I also served as a community liaison for preservation planning activities and managed or served a key role in the preparation of specialized studies including but not limited to: historic property maintenance manuals, preservation ordinances; design guidelines; revitalization plans; historic context studies and community surveys; and National Register of Historic Places documentation.
