I currently serve as a Director at BJH Advisors, where I have managed market feasibility and planning studies for a diverse group of institutional, government and private sector clients. These include a comprehensive economic development strategy for Westchester County, NY, a hotel market study for the NYC Department of City Planning, a comprehensive cultural and tourism infrastructure study for the New York Building Congress, a policy study for the Hotel Association of New York, an anchor institution strategy for the Trust for Governors Island, and an economic development study for Downtown St. Louis.

I serve as an independent advisor to a number of organizations, including from 2017 - 2018 to the Long Island City Partnership (with East Egg Project Management) on a New York State-funded feasibility study for life sciences development in western Queens and currently to the City of Hoboken (with FCA Architects and East Egg Project Management) on a New Jersey State-funded strategic plan for a community innovation center and incubator.

Senior management position at economic development and real estate consulting firm formed in 2014 as merger between K. Backus & Associates of New York and U3 Ventures of Philadelphia. U3 Advisors advises academic and other institutional clients on a wide variety of real estate issues and place-based economic development initiatives so that they can better understand how their real estate portfolio can best serve their core mission. As Vice President in the New York office, I served as lead project manager of real estate and planning projects for a diverse range of academic and public clients, including Rutgers University, the University of Nevada, Johns Hopkins University, Montgomery College, the City of Carlsbad, CA, and the District of Columbia. For these clients, I oversaw and managed all components of U3 Advisors' scope of work, including:• Selection and management of subconsultant team • Benchmarking, best practices and peer evaluation• Stakeholder interviews and outreach• Evaluation of local real estate market data• Financial and cash flow analysis• Development of program recommendations and implementation strategy• Developer partner selection and negotiation

Founded in 1997, K. Backus & Associates (KBA) was a real estate and planning advisory firm that worked primarily with universities and nonprofit organizations, as well as with private developers and businesses engaged in public/private development projects. Until its 2014 merger with U3 Ventures, KBA's core business was providing project management services and expert real estate advice to clients during the planning and preconstruction phases of development projects.At KBA, I served as lead project manager for many of the firm's leading academic and institutional clients. Most notable was Cornell Tech, where I worked closely with University leadership from conception to implementation of Cornell's new applied sciences campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City. This included crafting Cornell's response to the NYC Economic Development Corporation's Request for Proposals, coordinating with environmental consultant and land use counsel to shepherd project successfully through the public land use, design and environmental review process, and management of developer partner solicitation process for corporate co-location and residential components of campus.At KBA, I also served as lead project manager for planning projects at Columbia University Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, NYU, Princeton University, and Amherst College.

Began as senior project manager in NYCEDC's Transportation and Waterfront Development division and promoted to Vice President within four years. In addition to Transportation, I oversaw NYCEDC's efforts to promote life sciences development in NYC. In this latter role, I coordinated closely with NYC's medical research institutions and private sector partners to identify means and incentives for development of a significant biotech cluster in New York. I served as part of NYCEDC team that negotiated City land dispositions to NYU and Columbia University for development of commercial life science facilities adjacent to these campuses.
