Within iRobot’s Technology Organization, I was responsible for ensuring our innovative new technologies were successfully reduced to practice and incorporated into iRobot products, to ensure iRobot maintained its technology leadership position. Most notably, I led the highly successful development and delivery to market of iRobot's "Imprint Smart Mapping" software technology in the Roomba i7 product. This technology enables a new level of intelligence and automation, with the ability to learn, map and adapt to a home's floor plan. Our robots can now remember multiple floor plans and room names so users can customize cleaning jobs and direct the robot to clean specific rooms by voice or via our mobile app. This advancement provides a technology platform upon which iRobot will continue to build and deliver increasing value to customers for years to come. I worked closely with stakeholders in product development and product marketing to align our technology and product roadmaps. I led our cross-functional technical teams, primarily software, in delivering our highest visibility and most critical new product/technology offerings. In this role, my responsibilities included definition of product requirements for robotic systems, as well as leading all product development and manufacturing bring-up for new products from concept through production. I have demonstrated success leading high-performing software teams in the transition of innovative technologies from the research lab through product development.

In this director-level role, I ran complex, cross-functional, new product development efforts in both Consumer Robotics and Enterprise Telepresence divisions. I led a cross-functional product development team in the development and launch of next generation Roomba products. My responsibilities extended from scoping and managing pre-concept feasibility studies of innovative new technologies, through manufacturing bring-up and mass production of consumer robots. I also led a 40+ person cross-functional team in the development and sustaining support of enterprise-class autonomous telepresence robots for the Remote Presence Business Unit. I was the Product Owner for multiple SCRUM teams operating in an Agile environment for combined hardware and software product development. My responsibilities included development and ownership of product requirements, as well as the management of all hardware and software engineering development, ownership of internal and external beta schedules and execution, as well as operations readiness and production launch.

Within iRobot's Home Business Unit, led cross-functional teams in the development, certification and worldwide release of robotic products, including Roomba; Directly responsible for ensuring products launch in key international markets to support Annual Operating Plan (AOP)Previously led all internally and externally funded ground research programs, including several million dollars in annual contract revenue with DARPA and other agencies, spread across 10 programs and 15 mechanical, electrical and software researchers.

Reporting to Senior Director of Supply Base Engineering, directly managed a worldwide team of engineers in US, China and Taiwan,, working on development of server, networking, and power supply products. Performed all personnel management responsibilities - including work/goal assignment, reviews, employee raises, group budgeting and hiring.Team was responsible for definition of product requirements, oversight of supplier development activities, and qualification testing of supplier hardware and software leading up to EMC's product release.

Created technical specifications and managed international suppliers through the design and qualification of new products for EMC systems. Created procedures for governing supplier and EMC test processes, including Failure Mode Effects Analysis and extended life testing.
