The City of Surrey is the second largest city in British Columbia - and up until 2017, there was no permanent professional orchestra within the city. After I completed my Master's in Orchestral Conducting, I returned back to my hometown to help develop the Surrey City Orchestra working alongside the board of directors. Within the duties of my position, I develop concert programs and lead the orchestra in concert with professional musicians across the city. Using my skills in public relations, I have also been able to generate national coverage for our developing orchestra, with the orchestra featured in the Vancouver Sun, Surrey Now, and our recording of O, Canada was played on CBC radio on Canada Day.
