Formed in 2007, the Ohio Organizing Collaborative (OOC) is an innovative statewide organization uniting community organizations, faith institutions, labor unions and policy groups across Ohio. The OOC's mission is to organize everyday Ohioans, building transformative power for social, racial, and economic justice in our state through civic engagement, social movement-building and community organizing.As a Senior Organizer, I had multiple, evolving roles at OOC. > As a Small Town Organizer, I recruited and built volunteer-led teams in 8 counties for the Issue 1 ballot campaign. I developed a team formation process and onboarding training for new teams. I also began the creation of a statewide ‘Ohio Small Town Alliance’ of local grassroots groups.> As a Senior Trainer, I co-created curriculum for OOC’s annual intensive weeklong leadership training, and trained sessions ranging from 'Your Story of Self' to 'Public Narrative' and 'Campaign Strategy.' > As a Resistance Assistance Organizer, I built strategic alignment and expanded capacity for hundreds of ‘resistance’ groups and thousands of ‘resistance’ activists in Ohio who began taking grassroots action after the 2016 election. I co-founded Ohio Progressive Action Leaders (OPAL), a statewide ‘resistance’ coordinating hub, hosted regular statewide trainings to build capacity for local group leaders, and built the OPAL core leadership team, successfully passing the organization on.

Formed in 2012, the Ohio Student Association (OSA) is a statewide student organization on more than 16 campuses across Ohio. OSA empowers young people through social movement-building, civic engagement and leadership development.I co-founded the OSA, and led the organization to become the most powerful grassroots young people’s organization in Ohio. I co-created an interracial organization which played a pivotal role catalyzing the #BlackLivesMatter movement. OSA has produced social movement leaders recognized in the Root100 and invited to meet with President Obama, won statewide campaigns, and registered over 30,000 students to vote. I designed curriculum and trained OSA’s Fellowship for Community Change, (civic leadership cohort program), which now in its 5th year, and has graduated hundreds of young Ohio leaders. I cultivated a sustainable network of state and national donors, raising over 1M for OSA, and personally mentored OSA’s 2nd generation leadership, successfully passing the organization on to them.
