Cyberhawk are the UK’s leading UAV company providing Land surveying and Industrial Inspection Services. Cyberhawk was founded over 10 years ago and operate globally providing high quality aerial imagery and geospatial datasets. In the Land Survey Department we utilise fixed-wing and multi-rotor UAV platforms to produce high resolution geo-referenced orthophotography, digital elevation models and aerial panoramic imagery.Based in Livingston, UK, I manage Cyberhawk’s growing Survey Department. My role as Survey Manager includes client liaison, preparing quotations, risk assessments and method statements, implementing survey and data processing standards, managing the survey teams and overseeing all survey projects. In September 2003 I was appointed the position of Geomatics Manager at Star Net Geomatics in Livingston. Star Net Geomatics are specialists in land surveying and laser scanning surveying in the renewables, oil & gas and waste management sectors. The geomatics department carried out topographic surveys, setting out, internal building surveys, flood studies, etc. using state of the art Trimble GPS and total stations. We utilised LSS and AutoCAD to process surveys and produce final drawings. My role as Geomatics Manager included client liaison, preparing quotations, implementing survey and drawing standards, managing the survey teams, overseeing all projects, invoicing and carrying out specialized volumetric, design and visualisation work. I was responsible for recruiting new staff and dealing with departmental HR. I was a member of the senior management team with other department heads and directors.

From September 2002 I worked as Regional Surveyor with Shanks Waste Management in Coatbridge. My role included overseeing all survey requirements for Shanks' sites in Scotland and Cumbria. Work included topographic surveying, setting out, internal building surveying, volumetric analysis, earthworks design, CAD drafting and 3D visualisation. I gained valuable experience in designing pre-settlement models, carrying out volumetric analysis, creating isopachyte drawings, preparing tender drawings, etc. I was responsible for arranging, overseeing and budgeting for survey work to be carried out by survey contractors.

Providing all types of survey services to Babtie departments and external clients. Contracts undertaken include Flood Studies in Glasgow City, River Garnock and Bishop Auckland, Topographical Survey of A8 North Lanarkshire, Elevations of railway viaducts using reflectorless total station and measured building surveys. Use of Geotronics total stations and GPS and processing with LSS survey software and AutoCad.

Carried out all types of survey work including topographic, hydrographic and building surveys. Contracts included Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 apron survey, Scottish Sheriff Court building surveys and Edinburgh Rapid Transit survey.Knowledge of WILD Survey Instruments and Grade processing package.
