Started Young Life in the town of Marblehead, Massachusetts through partnering with caring adults and service oriented entities in the community. Focused specifically on building relationships with able bodied high school and middle school students, as well as students with special needs.

Produced materials and research that aided risk management efforts in Barrow, Alaska, with a focus on community development. Specifically worked to develop productive relationships between Native American tribes and entities of the U.S. Government.

Researched and visited housing complexes to secure housing for over 30 veterans in Hampton Roads. Compiled leasing information of all landlords in Hampton Roads that The Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation worked with over the past five years for an excel spreadsheet to assist case managers. Participated in 3 grant writing/project logic model workshops, networked with other non-profit professionals for services useful to The Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation.

Managed and advocated for veteran client from intake until eventual housing in Portsmouth. Conducted interviews with residents of Cedar Grove; connected them with Veteran’s Affairs benefits and other resources. Canvassed Lake Edward area to gain support from residents for civic league meeting place. Designed summer internship program for at risk youth in service areas of Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation.

Implemented behavioral interventions to resolve conflicts among children labeled as having “behavioral problems”.
