WeAreTLM https://www.wearetlm.org/ is an Irish/UK/Tanzanian Charity working in Tanzania to help improve the outcome of children with cancer.I work as a Elixir/Phoenix Lead Developer building an online Patient record and chemotherapy prescribing tool for Paediatric Oncology. Leading all aspects of technical development from application/database design through to testing and deployment.Some technologies used are, Elixir, Phoenix, PostgreSQL, LiveView, JavaScript, TailwindCSS, Docker, GitHub Actions for Continuous Integration and Deployment and the solution is deployed via AWS.

Technologies included, Java, JSP, JavaScript, JQuery, Spring, Git, Maven, SQL, Oracle, Linux, JBoss, Apache MQ, Teamcity, Jenkins, IntelliJ and Vim.

Broadridge (previously Rockall Technologies) works in the area of collateral management and Trade finance.I worked as a lead Java Developer in an Agile development environment and was involved in many aspects of the projects from design and coding through to test and final deployment. Technologies used included JSP, Struts, Spring, Continuous integration using TeamCity, Selenium System Tests, IntelliJ, PLSQL, Oracle, Tomcat, WebSphere on Linux, build scripts using Ant and dependencies were managed using Maven.

While working for IBM major customer engagements included:Java Developer for Irish Life. July 2001 - Dec 2002.Worked on customer site to create a point of sales internet application for brokers to sell products such as pensions, mortgages and life assurance. Technologies included JSPs, Java, EJBs, and PDF print-outs. The development environment included tools such as Junit, Ant, Netbeans and Toad. The production environment ran on HP-UX and also used Weblogic application server, MQ Series and Oracle. Responsibilities included; working with the customer to refine requirements, application design, development and test.Java Developer for Royal Sun Alliance. July 2000 - June 2001.Worked on customer site to develop applications such as a web based application for collection of motor accident details and an application for downloading and then uploading monthly reports for brokers. The project included technologies such as Java Servlets, XML, XSL, JDBC and Javascript and used the VisualAge for Java development environment. The production environment ran on NT Server and used WebSphere Application Server, DB2 for AS400, also invoked some AS400 RPG programs. Responsibilities included; application design, development, test and the transfer of skills to the clients’ developers. I was also responsible for the setup and management of the code repository.Functional Testing for Esat Digifone. May 2000.Worked on customer site with a team which was responsible for the functional testing of Esat Digifones web portal. This included testing the functionality of WAP phones for online purchases.

My core role entailed the continual maintenance and improvement of test programs for testing Integrated Circuits. Some of the programs were written in a tester language based on Fortran and the others were objected oriented and based on C++. In my first year I also spent a considerable amount of time coordinating the transfer of some products from IBM sites in the USA, Canada and Italy to Ireland.I also took on extra responsibility to lead a Statistical Process Control project which was born from the need to have more accurate control over test equipment and to obtain better measures of equipment performance. The architecture included an RS232 communication from the test equipment to a Visual Basic application. All data was held centrally on DB2 running on AIX. Responsibilities included project leadership, requirements gathering, defining the database design, defining the mathematical SPC control rules and functional testing. Also wrote complex DB2 trigger and several SAS (Statistical Analysis System) programs, which incorporated SQL and HTML, to generate reports.

Work placement in France.April - September 1996.Study at ESIGELEC school of electronic engineering in Rouen, France. Also employment in Procter and Gamble in the KSG Soap Fabrication section in Amiens, France. My responsibilities included chemical analysis and quality control of some of the main components of soap.
