I lead a team that specialises in patents and designs, with an emphasis on drafting and prosecuting in a range of electrical, software, medical, bioinformatics and mechanical technologies. We frequently conduct patentability and clearance searches, oppositions and strategic portfolio reviews.I love to get to know a client's product or service offering and to see it in action where possible. I relish the chance to assist clients in legally and technically complex areas, as well as those of a more straight-forward nature. I also relish the opportunity to advise clients on patent strategies tailored to their specific needs and business challenges. My US and Canadian practice experience means that I can provide in-depth advice to local Australian clients about key patent issues for those countries and help develop a suitable strategy to best position the client to achieve a positive outcome. For US and Canadian clients, I can "speak the language" and understand the issues - nothing is lost in translation.
