As Special Projects Coordinator for the Bureau of Children, Youth and Families in the Division of Mental Hygiene, I advance the Bureau's priorities and support its core functions. The Bureau is responsible for planning and monitoring much of NYC's network of child and adolescent community mental health services.My responsibilities include:- Managing projects of strategic interest to the Bureau- Conducting literature reviews and researching best practices- Developing briefing documents, position papers, and presentations- Conducting meeting preparation- Coordinating and tracking reporting- Serving as communications liaison- Coordinating response to requests from Divisional and Departmental leadership

Intern in NYC DOHMH’s Division of Mental Hygiene; Bureau of Children, Youth and Families- Assisted in the planning and implementation of youth suicide prevention initiatives - Supported the creation of scopes, budgets, and justification memorandums for initiatives - Actively contributed in meetings with stakeholders and experts to support suicide prevention efforts - Conducted research and evaluation of behavioral health promotion and suicide prevention interventions - Developed policy strategies for emerging public mental health issues - Reviewed new federal and state legislation to assess implications for the Bureau - Lobbied for policy changes through comments on NY State draft regulatory amendments - Attended meetings and seminars to review and assist in the implementation of new Medicaid legislation - Tracked local, state, and federal policy to create a Legislative Agenda for 2022-23 - Reported on emerging research to inform future policy and project planning

- Conducted primary and secondary research, including interviews and literature reviews. - Wrote a 32-page report on sustainable tenancies practices to improve outcomes for tenants, involving quantitative and qualitative research – using R and Excel to analyse datasets.- Developed and amended organisational policies to align with Residential Tenancies Act. - Contributed to policy discussion at weekly policy meetings.- Attended Rooming Houses to meet with tenants and assess wellbeing.
