Hello everyone! My name is Taylor Edwards and I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a certificate in Dance.I am very passionate about software engineering and dance. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old and I am currently a performing member of DanceWorks Boston. While learning somatic theory and movement composition during my time in university, I’ve found striking parallels between the realms of computer science and dance. A captivating instance is that Laban movement quality combinations can be represented as a string of binary digits! It’s very exciting to find connections between seemingly unrelated things. Such revelations reinforce my belief that dance fosters innovative thinking, nurturing my abilities as an engineer who thrives on thinking beyond boundaries. My professional engineering journey has been enriched by two impactful software engineering internships. When I was a software engineer intern at Skyward, I developed school software features in C#, JavaScript, and SQL that continue to directly benefit a global user base of over four million people. As a Dell intern, I played a pivotal role in engineering a robust full-stack resource management application that will deliver invaluable advantages to millions of enterprise users and their tens of thousands of servers. My dedication and impactful work was commended by the senior vice president, who graciously shared insights and career guidance during an illuminating 1:1 coffee conversation. Presently, I apply these impactful experiences to my full time role as a Software Engineer I at Dell, where I develop software that globally protects petabytes of data for Fortune 500 companies and volunteer with the Dell Pro Bono Program to provide consulting to nonprofits.I’d love to chat and discuss potential opportunities!
