During my undergraduate education, I conducted research on predator-prey interactions between oceanic ctenophores and their zooplankton prey. This was to determine the mean feeding rate efficiencies of five genera of ctenophores using in situ video analysis. I also coordinated feeding sessions and care of ctenophores at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts during the summer of 2022. Currently, a senior capstone research paper and presentation, as well as a to-be-published paper have been generated by these findings.

Over my summer and winter breaks, I efficiently filed tax documents for thousands of clients, scanned and sorted documents, delivered papers and mail throughout the office space, and helped with shredding of papers containing personal information of clients.

For my six-week high school senior internship, I worked as a research and education intern at the Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at Beczak. Here, I administered daily water quality checks for pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, turbidity, and salinity. This information contributed to a long-term data collection on water quality in the Hudson River. I sampled juvenile American eels using eel nets to determine stage of development, abundance, and migration patterns in the Hudson River estuary. On a daily basis, I fed and cared for a variety of fish, reptile, and invertebrate species such as white perch, diamondback terrapins, and blue crabs. Most days, there were educational programs held for elementary and early middle school students where I assisted in seining expeditions and educating students on environmental issues impacting the Hudson River, as well as the importance of preserving biodiversity. As a final project, I generated a dichotomous key and identification guide for common species of the southern Hudson River, which was able to be used with a general audience and children alike.

The summer before my senior year of high school, I worked primarily as a cashier and secondarily as a line worker for Chipotle. I worked closing shifts and was responsible for maintaining the front of house, bathrooms, and patio area, as well as deep cleaning all of these areas each night.

I was afforded the ability to be an unpaid intern at a local veterinary hospital (domestic animals) for a few months. I helped sterilize surgical equipment, take X-rays, calm animals, clean examination rooms, deliver supplies, communicate messages between doctors and technicians, and learned the inner workings of a veterinary hospital.
