Learning journey through Gandhi Fellowship and, systematic change in Aspirational District Transformation Programme at Begusarai, Bihar.1. Supported the block, cluster officials to enhance their leadership skills, for better delivery of academic support in schools, among students. Through 15 workshops, block meetings and 10+ cluster level sessions to ensure the sustainability of the school processes.2. Supported in successfully implementation of 6 school processes to enhance the student learning in 45 and 82 schools of two blocks. Co-creation of ideas.3. Identified students with low reading and numeracy skills through a baseline assessment tool in 2 demonstration schools of each cluster from class 2 to 8. Later Accelerated learning programme was organised to improve bsic language and numeracy skills of such children.4. I lead an intervention of designing an activity booklet for library with DIET faculty and students. Facilitated 4-5 sessions, discussions, designing activity, editing the content. Helped me to explore the various stages of book designing and publishing.5. Organised few community events regarding enrolment, documentary screening, library openings and others. These helped me to develop my event management skills and bridging the gap between school and community and understand the demographics.6. Developed various documents, contents, tools, reports of self and team work.7. Interacted and engaged with Jeeevika women for education awareness, enrolment drive, regular attendance and spreading of awareness.8. Spent 15 days in village between two significant tourism spots, yet much undeveloped in terms of education, finance independence, employability, social and political. I was deconditioned in the Mushar community with their care, love and culture. Done with no money, limited resources.9. Facilitated few sessions, debriefs and one-day workshop with my peers.Refer to consolidated document attached for more.

Gandhi Fellows will be conducting a week-long intervention in districts falling under the purview of Jal Shakti Abhiyan. The Roles and Responsibilities: To support the district in Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)- a campaign for water conservation and water security through:1. Carrying out awareness generating activities. And making strategies and planning for effective delivery and innovative interventions.2. Assisting the districts in documenting best practices/ stories, across the five intervention areas of JSA.3. Overall implementation of JSA and to work on improving the district ranking.Happenings of my JSA Jehanabad Chapter:1. Was selected under #2 in my fellowship district and was among four Gandhi fellows selected in Bihar.2. Attended and learnt lot from two days of orientation session Jal Shakti Abhiyan in Patna.3. Had rough plan with clear objective to document (the good stories- practices journal, small feature documentary on interventions of JSA in Jehanabad) and supporting in strategic planning for improving district ranking.4. Had meeting with Shri Naveen Kumar IAS, DM Jehanabad and made clear plans to make documentary and strategies.5. Liasoned with DM and 9-12 other district and block departments aligned for JSA interventions.6. Interviewed DM, JSA prabharis, district officers and key stakeholders concerned with the campaign.7. Was allowed DM’s smartphone to share the previous campaign photos, video clips, and news stories to compile in documentary.8. Joined and discussed with Central & State Nodal Officer (CNO, SNO) and Technical officer during their visits and also interviewed them.9. The focus was to amplify mass awareness on cleanliness and incite the people’s movement (Jan Andolan) for the Swachh Bharat Mission in a village in Mandar block of Ranchi.For this, we organised several activities with school children, youth and women of that village. A few initiatives include classroom teachings on cleanliness; group activities; awareness campaigns in school; morning rallies around the village; painted walls with slogans; assisted in a few toilet construction; and did household visits to sensitize communities.
