Hey there, I'm TJ! I've been fortunate enough to work as a performer, educator, and administrator at some of the most renowned arts and education organizations in Philadelphia. After receiving my Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Mansfield University in 2014, I was accepted to the Professional Apprentice program at the Arden Theatre Company, a full-time, year-long learning experience that encompasses all aspects of working in a non-profit arts organization. Following the program, until Fall 2017, I honed the vast skills I had acquired and fully submerged myself into the rigorous, but fulfilling, work of a freelancer. Music director, teaching artist, stage manager, marketing assistant, facilities representative, box officer, trombonist, assistant director: there's not a hat I wasn't willing to try. In an effort to gain better stability and create a more vast impact on the community, I was employed in 2017 as a full-time Vocal Music Teacher at Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School and in my time, have introduced thousands of young learners to the wonders and discipline of music and performance. Additionally, in my time at PPACS, I have developed and implemented a beginner theatre course, co-directed a youth choral group that has performed in prestigious venues (such as the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall), served as a mentor to new teachers, and have been designated as Arts Team Leader for the K-4 schools. My experiences in the performing arts and educational sectors have provided an organizational knowledge and competency that will carry me confidently into whatever endeavors I seek.
