I greatly enjoyed the 2 months I spent working as an intern at Intelligent Plant, working on creating a performance testing framework for their live service servers. I designed, implemented, and performed these tests to gather performance data of their servers. I then used R to analyse and present this data in a report which is being made available to clients. Throughout my time there I developed a greater independent work ethic as part of undertaking responsibility for all aspects of the project.

Fast paced, customer facing role in which I have learned a lot about customer interaction and 3rd party relations. Requires punctuality, reliability and professionalism in interactions with businesses and customers as a representative of my employer.

During my time in this role I helped organise large scale multi-university Computing events and was heavily involved with all aspects of the organisation, including catering, risk assessment and the operations on the day. I also approached and negotiated with company representatives to secure funding and foster relations with the Society. As part of the Society I helped coordinate smaller regular society skill exchanges featuring guest speakers and practical demos.

I was involved as a recruit in the MoD’s University Officer training program, I worked on many challenging physical and mental tasks as part of both a large and small team. In this environment my communication and coordination skills were tested to success and my ability to work as part of a larger functioning team was essential. I eventually committed to a voluntary discharge to focus on my academic studies as I moved into second year.
