About Jeff Thompson
I was blessed to learn the meaning of a strong work ethic at a very young age, being raised on a dairy farm in Michigan. Over time, my work ethic and a powerful resolve to solve difficult challenges has helped form the core of who I am. It is this same drive and determination that led me to enlist with the Marines Corps., where I led 12 Marines in combat as a squad leader. My deployments were to both Iraq and Afghanistan.Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of my military experience was the opportunity to help other enlisted soldiers with disciplinary challenges find their purpose and meaning within a system that sometimes lacks compassion and understanding. This experience helped strengthen my leadership style (fluid and evolving), teaching me to be patient and listen first before suggesting any substantive action.These are valuable lessons and experiences that I carry with me to this day as a loving husband, devoted father of two and dedicated family man who strives to place his family and local community first. I want to give back and share those same values with others. Whether it’s as a small business owner of Cinch I.T. or as a Customer Success Manager at Check Point, the mission is always the same—helping others.My attitude of helping serve others starts at home with my family but also carries forward into everything I do—both professionally and personally. Whether it be my community involvement with Washington County Volunteer Center and Team Rubicon, or my volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters—my desire is to be engaged and give back. One of my favorite non-profits that I've sponsored is GPS Education Partners, where students can earn high school credits in simulated learning environments. At some point, I would love to build a “real-world” cyber operations center to help teach young people practical IT and security skills in a simulated learning environment that could serve them well professionally—for years to come.It’s just how I’m wired. I like helping others by improving processes and access to programs that inspire, encourage and motivate young people to dream big. At times, this was something missing in my own life and has become somewhat of a passion and a life mission for me.
