I am currently a full-time chemical engineering student at the University of Maine in Orono. I have enjoyed being a part of several engineering clubs (TAPPI and AIChE) as well as several intramural sports teams. I have completed a two-term CO-OP position with WestRock at their Hopewell, VA plant primarily in the power and recovery department. This experience allowed me to work with a variety of equipment in a manufacturing setting. I was fortunate enough to be able to work on a wide variety of projects including chemical audits, testing and analysis and overall manufacturing processes. During my time working on these projects, I was able to use my knowledge of Minitab and Excel as well as my teamwork, time management, and communication skills to make meaningful contributions to the company. I also earned my yellow belt Lean Six Sigma Certification at WestRock.I have also gained valuable skills through my other summer jobs. Some skills learned include organizational, and communication, active listening, quick thinking, timeliness, and dependability. I look forward to applying the knowledge, that my experience in school and work have given me, to a career using my chemical engineering degree and am open to learning about employment opportunities to begin late summer of 2023.
