I used my experience to quickly turned the unit into a team of knowledgeable individuals who could work together to achieve common goals. I met with many builders that were threatening to pull the plug on our business relationship and worked with them to successfully gain their trust and keep them on board. I traveled to every customer job site and I personally gave all quality control inspections and managed all installations from scheduling to completion. After four months of above-average management, Firedog’s parent company, Circuit City, cut the builder division of Firedog in the Raleigh area. I was then asked to run the entire building division in North Carolina.

I served as the interim Branch Manager from September 2006 until my departure, controlling all of the Operations and Branch Department functions of the Raleigh Branch. This consists of the direct reports of approximately 30 technicians and 5 supervisors, overseeing daily operations of installations and quality control for all jobs. I have conducted all of the Branch functions up to and including monthly tracking of sales and installs. I have kept the Branch running on high morale and good financial decisions.

In three of my first six months at CPI, I broke eleven-year records in both*Installations Completed* and *Service Calls Ran* categories. When I was offered this job, the department, having three changes in management in itslast two years, was in disarray. I reorganized it and redeveloped a team atmosphere forthe installers. After my first year, I was 5th in the country and 2nd in medium districts.I quickly became "the go-to guy" for various in-office projects and was constantly calledon for my input in various situations. I processed P&L reports for my department andlearned various types of equipment, from Ademco Security products to Card Access by CasiRusco and EAS (Electronic Article Systems). I served as Safety Coordinator in my last yearwith ADT. I also developed reward plans within our department to spotlight and rewardinstallers who went above and beyond the job requirements.

Being in a sales position is a great way to polish your people skills. I had numeroussatisfied customers and received a large amount of my business from word of mouthadvertising. I was in sales for about a year and was ranked 16th in the country'sstandings for all residential resale reps for ADT Security Services.

I installed new alarm systems and reactivated existing alarm systems in residentialcustomer*s homes. I quickly earned the reputation of being time efficient and reliable,while having the ability to quickly complete the most detailed of assignments. I was arespected team player and was regularly called upon by my peers to assist in their jobs,either with advice or hands on help.
