Evolution OT was closed in January 2019. Evolution is an Occupational Therapy practice that was established in early 2009, based in Brisbane, Queensland. The principle aim of the business is to provide a high quality assessment service, providing Occupational Therapy (OT) Driving Assessments and driver rehabilitation, as well as specialist consulting and advice in Disability Vehicle Modifications. Evolution services South East Queensland, Toowoomba and Northern NSW areas, and additionally completes a regular fly-in, fly-out service to central Queensland. Evolution supplies a wide range of OT interventions, including training for people with mobility limitations, injury management consultancy, disability and aged care services (e.g. DVA) and Medicare Enhanced Primary Care services.  Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for mobility assessments, travel training and home assessments for the various schemes provided by the Service  Assessment and intervention work with a wide client base, focusing on areas including ADLs, mobility, home and access modification, reablement and completing most aspects of a social service OT functions Providing advice and treatment to a wide range of clients, primarily older adults and the elderly, often with multiple morbidities, and experience with a range of conditions including Neurological conditions, Falls, Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, diabetes, COPD and other respiratory system diseases, Arthritis and orthopaedic conditions Key consultant on a major program to review the transport needs of Camden residents, to improve the benefit and utility of adapted and accessible transport provided by the Council Prescribing advice, recommendations and implemented modifications related to the vehicles and equipment utilised by council, including accessible busses and mini-vans, accessible single user vehicles, personalised mobility vehicles and powered wheelchairs Completing reviews of client’s homes and access routes to ensure ability to access the community, recommending and supervising installation of modifications including ramps and rails, and cooperated with NHS colleagues to prescribe suitable mobility and home aids Providing key clinical support and healthcare/medical feedback/advice to non-health professionals and management within the service, to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of legislation
