I started in computing before the internet became mainstream. I've been interested in the connected world ever since helping write a multi-user game for a local school network in 1989 - the same year WWW debuted. My first job out of university was in a desktop publishing company where I learnt the importance of graphics and design. I soon moved into the world of SAP where I was working on important systems within some of the largest companies in the world. It's always been hard to say what my core competency is as I excel at picking up areas that my colleagues struggle in. I have an ability to know how an application actually works and using that knowledge instead of relying on set procedures for getting what is needed out of it.The above means that I am quick to understand new and complex environments (new or existing) and thrive on the challenge of fitting them together to meet the business needs. As the projects I am involved in have grown in size, I have had to realise that I can't do everything and I can get better results through managing interactions with my my colleagues. I have grown in to someone who enjoys leading and seeing success through the achievements of others.I am excited by the opportunities to use my skills to manage organisations and grow the competencies of my colleagues. In 2014 I started my own company which continues to supply architecture consulting to my clients. At the same time it allows my to do some personal design work where I can create something new.
