Throughout my first six years of employment, I held multiple positions at some of the best golf courses that Central Massachusetts has to offer, including Blackstone National Golf Club and Worcester Country Club. These experiences influenced my overall understanding of the golf industry, specifically how to manage an event in the most professional way possible. In my past position as a professional shop attendant at Worcester Country Club, I became more familiar with the “behind the scenes” of event management and member services.Upon completion of my junior year at Assumption University, I was pleased to accept an internship with the championships department of Mass Golf as a USGA P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Intern. This experience was very eye-opening and rewarding, as I was exposed to the hours of planning, course set-up, and administrative tasks that go into conducting a successful championship. My time in this position allowed me to hone the necessary skills of communication, time management and problem-solving that are so crucial within the golf industry.
