I was elected Mayor of the Borough of Carlisle in November of 2013, after having served 12 years on Borough Council. I am a Leadership Executive Director for the Democratic Caucus in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. I currently serve as Chief of Staff for Caucus Secretary Ronald G. Waters (191st Legislative District, City of Philadelphia and Delaware County)As Mayor, I am the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the Borough and oversee the policy and planning for the Police Department and provide direction to Chief Police. I also have veto power over any ordinances passed by Council of a legislative nature. I only vote in case of a tie and usually represent Council at any civic or special events. My current term ends in December of 2017.In 2009, Council President Grell appointed me to co-chair the Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB) Guideline Review Committee regarding historic district processes, customer service and guideline review. My involvement in the community extends to other Boards and Commissions including the Carlisle Theater and First Night: Carlisle, Hope Station Neighborhood Advisory Committee, and the Cumberland County Young Professionals, NAACP, The Cumberland County Democratic Committee, the Democratic Municipal Officials Network and the Carlisle Democratic Club.
