Have extensive experience in both private and public sector work with 11 years as a planning director for city and a regional development council and 50 years as an architect in retail and commercial development. Highlights include an 1100 acre multi-use development east of Valdosta, GA, which included construction of a 400 acre lake; working with Penske South Racing team developing NASCAR facilities; working with Dale Earnhart, Inc. on their corporate facilities; working nationwide with Chick-fill​-A focusing on mall and college campus facilities; working with Miller Zell (Atlanta) providing design/branding renovation for GM, Ford, Hyundai and Goodyear dealerships from PA to CA.. This led to designing several high end auto dealerships in North and South Carolina. With Robert Lee & Associates I was able to develop relationships that have resulted in on-going work with major petroleum retailers. Single site commercial facilities, corporate retail roll out programs, retail centers and office facilities have been my focus before joining HUNT. With HUNT I have gained additional experience in developing affordable housing facilities and industrial projects, including a four level addition to a parking garage in Ithaca. Since COVID I have had the opportunity to research the evolving post COVID trends in the retail industry, and with a co-worker, have had three articles published.My main goal now is taking the experience and knowledge gained through 50 + years in the field and sharing it with young architects. Specialties: Identifying / Understanding client needs, sustainable retail site design & development, developing processes for corporate "roll-out" programs, large scale multi-use developments, affordable multi-family housing, construction administration/ problem resolution, coordination of disciplines working in a team environment, and mentoring staffVery involved with old time fiddle and bluegrass music enthusiasts in upstate New York area. Presently performing with several bluegrass and old-time fiddle groups along with the Fiddlers of the Genesee. Have been president of Fiddlers of the Genesee for 5 years. I have been hosting several jams at Bernunzio's Uptown Music for going on 10 years, including a banjo support group.I recently have passed the certification program and have become registered with AIA's Safety Assessment Program. I am certified to perform structure reviews following wind and flood events.
