Opening Director of Sales and Marketing for Marriott hotel. Hotel was first component of Schenectady’s Mohawk Harbor a 60 acre $150 million development.

Additional responsibilities include:-Working with Revenue Manager and General Manager to strategize hotel's revenue management during weekly calls -Budgeting -Forecasting-Monthly reporting for Corporate team (P&L, Mid Month, End of Month)-Training of new associates-Creating catering menus and all pricing for client meeting requirements based on cost analysis-Connecting and leveraging relationships with vendors/partners to create sales packages giving hotel a competitive advantage

• Based on previous successes, recruited by management team at larger property offering a distinctive sales challenge with unique marketing opportunities• Performed outside sales calls (scheduled and cold calls), conducted property tours with prospective clients highlighting features and strengths of property and attended networking events with intention of become the face of the property• Marketed New Year celebration at property utilizing internet postings and radio spots ultimately achieved a substantial growth over the prior year celebration

• Brainstormed with Regional Manager to uncover market opportunities and develop sales strategies to exceed quarterly goals • Responsible for generating sales leads by calling on local businesses, associations, sports teams and state agencies• Carefully monitored area events and potential accommodation needs using internet tools such as Google Alerts and Albany.com• Negotiated and wrote sales proposals and upon acceptance prepared and reviewed group sales agreements and contracts to ensure client expectations are properly outlined to provide expected and discussed services to clients • Coordinated staffing levels, room set-up, catering, audio-visual needs and any other requirements for the event outlined in the contract • Coordinated group overnight accommodations by accurately creating rooming lists and billing information to simplify check-in process for groups• Constantly in contact with client representative to ensure highest level of customer service is received through the entire event and stay on property
