Profile bio

About Tom Harrison

From my early career with CDC to my role in The Partnering Initiative, my interest and experience is in improving the lives of people living in poverty through facilitating collaboration between the private sector, government and NGOs to address poverty and disadvantage, and by measuring and evaluating impact. I bring a multi-sector partnering lens to the following areas:• Market system transformation: understanding how a market system functions and what is constraining poor people from getting the full benefit from the market as consumers, producers or employees. Designing interventions that address the root cause of these constraints and evaluating their impact, including the use of randomised control trials;• Inclusive business: supporting companies and organisations that are committed to using the skills and resources of the private sector to contribute to sustainable international development, including through better impact measurement and feedback to decision making;• Donor engagement with the private sector: helping donor organisations and NGOs to deepen their collaboration and drawing out lessons about what achieves the most impact, and why.The range of activities that I can support include: improving partnerships; managing and evaluating donor funded programmes; market systems analysis; conducting research and writing reports and case studies. I also have a lot of experience facilitating meetings and workshops.   Specialties: Managing private sector development programs for donors; Evaluating donor programmes; Brokering cross-sector partnerships

Listed skills include International Development, Strategy, Corporate Social Responsibility, Ngos, and 7 others.
