In my current role within the Marketing dept, I am responsible for asset creation across a portfolio of prestigious brands in the skate, action sports and apparel industry, such as Santa Cruz and Heelys. This includes creation of digital asset packs for B2B and D2C platforms as well as social media channels. I look after layout design for trade catalogues and mailers, acting as the project manager on the catalogues, organising and collaborating with other team members to deliver the biggest seasonal offering to date - in full, on time, in spec. This often involves liaising with New Product Design and Sales department members to ensure all creative output is tailored and bespoke to their needs, with every detail accounted for.

The Brewery’s logo features (a space-suit-clad) Alfred the Gorilla - who arrived at Bristol Zoo in 1930 and became a popular attraction; remaining an important mascot for the city of Bristol to this day.The goal with the label art is to take Alfred on new adventures - exploring new worlds and wonderful locations. In his spacesuit, he roams mountain tops, dives in deep oceans, flies in the sky or rides across the desert on the back of a zebra! What began as a simple black and white logo, has grown into a more all-encompassing story. Alfred has become the identity of the brewery, with each new can label being more than just about the flavour of the beer - it tells a new chapter in the story of Alfred’s Adventures.Due to the success of the artwork, this role has expanded from an initial brief of six can designs to an ongoing position with a number of new labels produced each month. The artwork has also garnered notoriety on social media, gaining the Brewery followers and catching the attention of Adidas and Size? who approached us in 2022 to work on a collab project - brewing two beers with matching can labels to sit alongside the re-release of their 1980s “Bristol” trainer.In 2022, I won an award for the work at the Craft Beer Marketing Awards; Platinum, Best Can Design; Best Beer Series (UK). It has also been featured in the Creativepool Annual 2022, winning me Silver in the Illustration; Individual category.

I have continued to undertake freelance graphic design work, alongside having a full-time job. I have produced logos and branding for a variety of companies, as well as merchandise and other marketing materials. Since the start of 2019, I have specialised in design for the beer industry, whilst continuing to pursue other clients and working with them to establish their design requirements and see these through to completion. I currently have seven regular clients in the brewing industry.

In this role I looked after the company branding; updating the can designs for all their core-range beers and producing new artwork for several special releases. I designed all keg clips, beer mats, loyalty cards, tour vouchers, social media posts and all promotional artwork for events.Working on-site in the brewery I developed a good understanding of the brewing process. This has allowed me to better inform and assist my other clients with their design work such as, the relevant information to include on packaging, what types of materials are more durable for labels, and where to source printing.

I was part of a small team that was responsible for finishing a selection of predominantly bronze sculptures with paint, lacquer and other fine finishes. On a daily basis I could be tackling a twenty-foot high statue, or a smaller table-top piece. I would advise on the most effective options for a paint finish, manage projects and organise workflow to meet deadlines, perform regular stock-takes of all the materials and provide progress reports to head-office on all artworks.

Monarch Print produces printed merchandise and personalised gifts and my role was to run the company’s online shop, take customer enquiries, provide quotations and oversee, proof and approve all customer artwork. During a company rebrand, I took a principal role in designing and implementing a new logo and building a bespoke website using an online site-builder; something which did not previously exist. Monarch Print had no previous social media presence, so I set up Facebook and Twitter accounts, and created all digital content to connect with their customers.

My role was to assist in the production of the studio’s main paintings. I was responsible for working on high profile artworks that had to be completed to an extremely high standard and within strict deadlines. Due to the nature of high confidentiality in this company, I worked closely with managers and clients to ensure timescales were met. I used a range of skills, including canvas prep, painting composition, Photoshop / Illustrator, and paint spraying.
