RCP is a grassroots organization working with refugee and migrant communities across central North Carolina. We are made up of 1,200+ RCP Members from all over the globe, rebuilding home here. These community-based research projects focus on democratizing healthcare provision, and ensuring that refugees and migrants have access to quality care. Research Coordinator Responsibilities:-Manage all aspects of a mixed methods study evaluating language access for LEP patients in local healthcare systems -Set up, clean, and manage data systems for RCP’s healthcare program and current research studies-Conduct analysis of datasets, translating findings into various mediums for communication/development needs -Develop and disseminate program performance reports, research analysis, and advocacy strategies -Presenting in a breakout session at the North Carolina Global Health Alliance Conference on refugee and migrant health in NC-Plan and execute focus groups and in-depth interviews in various languages with refugees and migrants on language access -Recruit and manage interns working on different projects concerning health research and advocacy

The State Refugee Office (SRO) is a part of the Department of Health and Human Services in the Social Services division and administers a wide range of programs that are part of the implementation of the Refugee Resettlement Program. The SRO consist of 3 service areas: Refugee Public Assistance, Refugee Service Programs, and Refugee Support Activities. The Office oversees and supports service providers working with ORR eligible populations (refugees and asylees) across North Carolina. In this role I: - Monitor refugee providers for quality of service provision and compliance/adherences to ORR and state policies- Developed and updated onboarding documents, instruction manuals, and technical guidance notes- Provides technical support for refugee programming, including program development, assessment, and outreach- Co-chair of youth and education subcommittee- Chair of the law and immigration subcommittee- Lead quarterly meetings- Serve as contract administrator for 50 contracts across 13 contractors - Responsible for all aspects of contract fulfillment, including auditing, invoicing, budgetary management, and submissions to state controller- Create educational and promotional materials for internal and external distribution - Design and deliver trainings on multi-pronged state and federal policies for government and nonprofit organizations to inform and ensure compliance and collaboration

This early stage start-up based in Houston, TX is developing a POC breath-based diagnostic for COVID-19, tuberculosis, lung cancer, and COPD. As the director of business development and clinical affairs, I was in charge of designing and implementing 3 studies supporting product and business development concurrently. Two were focused on market research, wherein one focused on UX and the other on customer development. The third study was the start-up’s first human-subject research study. - Designed and implemented 3 studies; the company's first human-subject research study and two qualitative business-development studies with product end users and industry key informants- Initiate and sustain business and research relationships with academic, private, and public organizations- Create and disseminate materials for investors, academic partners, and other partnerships. - Interviewed future product end users (i.e. physicians, nurses) and buyers (i.e. insurance, hospital administrators)- Initiated and maintained business and research relationships with academic, private, and public institutions- Drafted, reviewed, and assisted on federal grants and business materials for the company

The Kenan Institute for Ethics is a “think and do” tank housed at Duke University that explores the moral challenges of our time. The Duke Global Health Institute (DGHI) is an academic institution that connects healthcare professionals, public health professionals, policymakers, academics, and NGOs across the world to achieve health equity.o Identified public health models to develop a model for China’s specific population o Presented the synthesized models to delegates from the Chinao Condensed a master’s thesis for publication in academic journals o Published an article on China and Vietnam’s techniques towards universal health coverage (UHC)o Wrote a Brookings Institute Blog on lessons learned from China and Vietnam's approach to UHC

The SPIRE Fellowship supports and engages underrepresented populations in STEM at Duke University.o Supported fellows by facilitating relationships and providing guidance on navigating academia weekly o Attended conferences on academic recruitment and retention of minority students in STEM o Chose new cohorts of the fellowship by examining 100 applications within two days o Chose Planned and executed bi-monthly meetings for 50 people
