Created the first alumni steering committee for Teach For America in North Carolina, collaborating with 20+ alumni to create a new direction for our alumni experienceBio:I’m a North Carolina native, born and raised in Raleigh and the public schools of Wake County. My mom taught in Wake County Schools and my father was an auto mechanic, later starting his own business. After graduating from North Carolina State University, I attended UNC Chapel Hill for law school, obtained a degree and bar license, and went to work in DC for a think tank on immigration policy.North Carolina soon called me home, where I joined Teach For America and taught high school English and theater for two years. Following that, I joined Teach For America as full-time staff and a coach of corps members. I spent the next seven years living and working as a coach in Warren County.During that time, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a three-person team that brought Conscious Leadership Coaching to the Eastern North Carolina region. As a result, our corps member satisfaction and learning data was some of the best in the nation for three years running. As the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I launched a pilot program where I coached Teach For America Alumni in a meld of executive and conscious leadership style coaching. In the summer of 2021, I transitioned into a role where I manage our alumni work in the Triangle. I believe in the limitless possibility of every human, and that we must transform the ways we work with each other. I’m an avid fan of every NC State sport, and my wife and I enjoy doting on our two dogs, eating and drinking decadently, and playing games.
