I was transferred from Technical Department to Commissioning & Operations Readiness as Process Engineer, during the commissioning phase of 100,000 tons capacity PVC-III and Utilities-III plants. My main responsibilities in this role included the follwoing:•Liaison with EPCC contractor to resolve critical issues pre and post commissioning of PVC-III and Utilities-III.•Equipment inspection of during commissioning phase; including tanks, vessels, PVC dyer, VCM stripper, reactors, and product silos.•Successful troubleshooting and startup of Demineralization Unit III•Successful commissioning, startup and test runs of 20 tons/hr capacity Package Boiler, with timely identification, troubleshooting and resolution of boiler issues post startup.•Monitoring and approving flushing and purging activities for commissioning of various circuits of PVC-III, Utilities-III and New VCM Sphere•Start-up of Instrument air unit.•Liaison with technology licensor to carry out pre commissioning activities of PVC-III, including verification of flow transmitters, level transmitters, anti-fouling agent spray patterns inside PVC reactors.•Liaison with technology licensor for water operation and VCM imitation operation, successful startup, and batch charging of PVC-III.•Guarantee test runs of PVC-III plant, Cooling Tower III and Instrument air units.•Daily plant monitoring of PVC-III and Utilities-III post commissioning and startup.•Troubleshooting of issues, in coordination with technology licensor and EPCC contractor, and implementation of solutions through management of change protocol.

My main responsibilities as Graduate Trainee Engineer were:1) Contact Process Engineering:. Monitoring of plant parameters on daily basis and issuance of Daily Monitoring Reports.. Heat rate and efficiency monitoring of Combined Cycle Power Plant.. Tracking of power and steam consumption and carrying out daily power balance of site.. Management of Polished Water crunches of site in case of down time at Demineralization units.. Monitoring of cooling water chemistry of Cooling Tower I and II, and liaison with chemical treatment company service engineer to regulate chemicals consumption.. Monitoring of boiler feed water chemistry HRSG A/B, and liaison with chemical treatment company service engineer to regulate chemicals consumption.. Monitoring of chilled water chemistry, and liaison with chemical treatment company service engineer to regulate chemicals consumption.. Evaluation of the performance of major equipment such as Gas Turbines, Steam Turbine, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Demineralization units and Waste water treatment units at Utilities/CCPP I and II.. Monthly reports preparation to calculate monthly power and utilities consumption of Utilities/CCPP I & II, PVC I/II, EDC/VCM and Chlor Alkali plants.. Implementation of new design changes through management of change procedure.2) Projects:. Initiated and carried out audits of steam traps performance of the site to calculate and prevent steam losses and enhance condensate recovery of the plant.. Cost optimization plan of site after commissioning of PVC-III. Heat exchanger survey of site including Utilities/CCPP I & II, EDC/VCM, PVC I/II and Chlor Alkali plants.. Anion Exchange resin replacement at Demineralization Unit I for improved runlength.. Feasibility study to replace existing ion exchange resin at Demineralization Unit II to improve performance and reduce chemical consumption.

My responsibilities as Management Associate were:. In depth study of Ammonia Plant operations, including Process Design Basis, Equipment Design Basis, detailed P&ID study and complete line tracing of front end and back end units of Ammonia Production.. Coordination with Senior Operations Engineers and other interfaces, such as maintenance and I&E to follow up and conclude daily routine jobs in plant area.. Study of work permit system.
