Vera develops curriculum and authored the phonics-based reading program Ready, Set, Read. She further provides professional development for teachers, parents, and community volunteers to become powerful reading tutors and instructors. She oversaw a Verizon Literacy Grant for the Elsinore First Assistance Center, providing instruction for hundreds of students, community volunteers, and local teachers.
