My main core focus for the company was Construction & Facilities Management in the Commercial (Shopping Centres), Residential (Affordable /Social Housing) Government sector.Instrumental in the commercial team, over seeing tender process on up to 8 potential projects at one timeSolely accountable and managed the business units P&L that was religiously scrutinised on a monthly basis by the Group Directors, ensuring that my team meets proposed plans (T/O and GP) as set in our business plan.Most notably commended for the success in identifying and negotiating innovative ways to motivate employees and sub-contractors to perform at the top of their ability and productivity in a time when recession has had an influence.My main role was in providing sturdy leadership, strategic direction and coordination across the company.I worked across the whole span of all the teams projects, my main responsibility includes analysing project requirements, developing appropriate delivery strategies and managing their implementation. My responsibilities were the development of the £160 Million; Design & Build Project of the Liverpool Arena & Convention Centre (LACC) for the European Capital of Culture 2008.Responsible for the day to day running of the Construction Arm of the Project, co-ordinating the Construction Team, reporting daily direct to the Project Director with regards to matter/progress involving Construction, Commercial and Planning.The is was 24/7 site with up to 200+ contractorsConstantly mindful of asset maintenance and control, carrying out feasibility assessments on live and proposed packages and phase’s of the project, when required carrying out Value Engineering exercises to assist in the Procurement and Budget constraints.Ensuring my projects were efficient and lucrative, meeting all parties involved needs and expectations, constantly meeting with our commercial teamResponsible for initiating Pre-Tender meetings acting as the main interface for all agencies involved in the Principal/subcontractor chain.Attended, organise and chaired design team and site meetings with client representatives as necessary.Constantly monitoring the progress in there section of works in relation to the Construction Programme.Maintained control over sub-contractors and supplier’s quality and performance, ensured all relevant safety criteria was met. Ensured all site correspondence, records and documentation were produced as required.Ensured that all sites comply with current Health & Safety Policy and Procedures. Developed a good safety culture on the sites by ensuring that all operatives are trained and well briefed in the tasks that they undertake. Identify employee’s needs and assist where possible to implement training for skill fade and Health & Safety.

• My successful career in the Royal Engineers allowed me to progress through the rank structure quickly, being fortunate to hold positions equivalent to Civilian Street within the Construction industry and like qualified.My sphere of activities within the Engineers was solely Construction and this had a varied remit. • I successfully run numerous major Construction and Plant Operating tasks throughout my time in the Forces with varying degrees.Bosnia (FRY) 2 ½ Year Operational Tour:• Responsible for the design and construction of main infrastructure nominated by United Nations (UN) as the Main Supply Route (MSR) of a two lane carriageway through treacherous mountain terrain condition.• Construction of various sized portal framed units from 500 – 15000 sq ft for temporary refugee housing and stores. • Solely responsible for the construction of Accommodation, Ablution units and Cook House/Restaurant to accommodate 2500 troops. Falkland Island Operational Tour• Responsible for the reconstruction of the helicopter apron at Mount Pleasant Airport (F.I), constantly use by Military and Civil aviation, working within extremely stringent guide lines and arduous conditions and ensuring that pad was operational within minimal timescales to ensure that helicopters were deployed immediately.• Concurrently running with this task was the upgrade of the Emergency runway in the event of main runway being damaged to allow re-supply and evacuation into and from the Falkland Island.Throughout my service I can evidence a wide array of Construction Tours and Projects that I have exclusively managed and been a successful team player within. (Falklands Island, Kosovo, Canada, Austria, Balkans, Macedonia, FRY and Belgium)
