Profile bio

About Bill Walsh

I have spent my entire career in front of and behind the camera, building rapport and trust with audiences and identifying the stories people need and want to hear from across the nation and their communities. I have worked with civic and community leaders to inform and educate, and navigated numerous crises with live coverage, from national disasters, crime and environmental issues to healthcare, major accidents, and up-close interviews with the people that make up the interesting fabric of our communities. Serving as the calm frontman and last gatekeeper for the news station’s reputation to deliver facts and insights to keep people informed, my communications leadership and media relations expertise has positioned me well to serve in a leading role for an organization in need of improved media relations strategy, and traction. I understand what the media needs to identify a good story, and I know how to help corporate leaders position themselves for success when thrust in front of a camera. My extensive media and storytelling expertise provides vital leadership for crisis communications, brand positioning and corporate image improvements. Rising quickly from reporter to weekend anchor, to main anchor and investigative reporter within a Top-40 market, I have loved every minute of this journey. Meeting interesting people, helping educate and inform, building trust with viewers and resources, and representing the news stations I worked for at business, civic, holiday, and special event functions is the cherry on top. I enjoy emceeing, presenting and serving as keynote speaker at numerous charity functions. This extra layer of community involvement and audience engagement has played a vital role in why I love my job and the viewership we serve. A mentor and coach, I am interested in continued growth opportunities and new challenges, where I can play a leading role in championing proactive communication strategies and valuable media exposure.
