Server and network administration including Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 – SQL 2014, database design, SQL tuning, and standards based set oriented SQL programming, SQL Server Reporting Services, and other business intelligence products like OLAP. Experience with MySQL, Windows NT/XP/2000/2003/2008/7/8, 2012, Linux Desktop – mostly Debian and Ubuntu but going all the way back to slackware on a 486 as well as basic LAMP server administration, deployment through PDQ and SCCM, Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007/2010/2013, IIS administration, TCP/IP. Extensive monitoring and event alerting experience through Nagios, PRTG, SNMP of varying versions v1-v3, Event Log Filtering and sophisticated performance monitoring of various statistics and performance counters, Netflow, and WMI of varying revisions. Hardware experience includes Standard Dell, Supermicro, and Sun Servers, Dell, HP, Asus, and custom built PC repair and configuration, Cisco ASA series, 802.xx protocols and various routers and switches as well as implementation and support of common office tools like scanners, enterprise printers, copy machines, and phone systems including voIP through Nortel (currently hosted SIP) and the Asterix open source PBX. Extensive experience with EMC/Legato products from the Xtender solutions family., as well as GFI Faxmaker, MailMarshal (currently called Trustwave Secure Email Gateway) and other edge technologies for handling bulk email and email policy compliance, along with Internet experience including detailed protocol level knowledge of various protocols such as FTP, HTTP, SMTP, etc. including hands on experience with compliance and monitoring of employee Internet activity through proxy server and protocol analysis and control through FOSS projects like Squid. Basic understanding of the operation of programming languages such as C, C++, Powershell, batch file and VB scripting, Unix and Linux shell scripting mostly through Bash, and a bit of Perl and regular expressions.
