CurrentBlueZoo provides audience and occupancy measurement services to the out-of-home advertising, retail, and insurance markets. BlueZoo's passive Wi-Fi technology counts smartphones as a proxy for people. Unlike GPS-based mobile apps, BlueZoo's technology is privacy friendly and measures 95% of smartphones in a designated detection zone. BlueZoo's technology is protected by seven granted USPTO patents. Some of the world's largest OOH advertisers (JCDecaux), retailers (Home Depot), and insurers (The Hartford) use BlueZoo products. Advertisers and retailers measure audience sizes of digital signage to set advertising prices. Insurers measure occupancy as an indicator of risk, and seek to mitigate and correctly price this risk. Relevant to insurance markets, BlueZoo markets a simplified product, branded "Party Squasher", to short term rental (e.g. Airbnb) operators. Party Squasher detects a party when people gather, typically more than 1.5 hours before the noise starts, and notifies the rental manager via SMS or email in real time.
