During my studies I completed a 12 month Internship working in the Hotel Iberostar Las Dalias. During my time in the Hotel I experienced working in many areas of the hotel such as Bar and Restaurant and Reception, during my work placement I gained a number of new skills and was able to improve on the ones I had already gained. I grew more confidence especially when faced with difficult and challenging situations, became more organised within the work place and learned the basics of Spanish which I am continuing with in the UK. A year in the hotel Industry was a fantastic experience as the Tourism and Hospitality Industry is where I would like to secure a career in the future, I have a passion for success and I am committed to providing the best possible service to customers who are the backbone of every company, I am a very flexible person and would be willing to work in a number of destinations around the world, hopefully in the future I would like to secure a hotel management role or a role within a different section of the industry such as Tour Operators or Airlines.My main roles and resposniblities while working in the hotel are as follow;Bar & RestaruantServing drinks to customers thorughout the dayClearing tables on the terrace and around the pool areaRe stocking fridges and ice Setting and clearing away tablesCollecting cutlery from the kitchenAssisting guests to tablesDealing with genral enquires ReceptionChecking guests into the hotel on arrival (variety of languages)Enter guest data into the systemMoney ExchangeDealing with general enquires and complaintsAdvising customers on activities/excursionsCash handling large amounts of forgien currencyExplanation of safe and internetDelivering notes to guests and other departments in the hotelDealing with telephone calls

I worked in this role during my second year of study at University as a way of supporting myself with my finances. During my employment I met people from a variety of backgrounds and gained more confidence and customer service skills, it also helped me to improve my time management and organisational skills as I was able to fit my work schedule around my studies.
